Engineering Group Manager

About the role

The Engineering Group Manager will lead a team of automation engineers at SJE’s Revere brand in Lakeland, Florida. This hands‑on position combines technical contribution to complex industrial control projects with leadership of engineers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of automation engineers across multiple simultaneous projects.
• Design, program, test, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Serve as technical lead for advanced instrumentation and control system designs.
• Collaborate with project managers to define scope, develop schedules, and meet client requirements.
• Provide on‑site technical leadership for system architecture, code development, FAT/SAT, and field troubleshooting.
• Ensure engineering quality and compliance with standards such as UL 508A, NEC, and ISA.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive standardization and innovation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in industrial automation.
• Strong background in control system design and implementation.
• Ability to work hands‑on while managing project priorities.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
