Engineering Designer

About the role
General Motors is looking for experienced Engineering Designers to join its hybrid team at the Warren Tech Center. The role involves creating high‑quality, manufacturable models in Siemens NX, integrating parts into vehicle architectures, and supporting the Global Vehicle Development Process.
Key responsibilities
- Assist designers with component requirements and virtual integration tasks.
- Develop, refine, and finalize design criteria for assigned systems.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, best practices, and Global infoBOOK requirements.
- Apply manufacturability, Design for Assembly (DFA), and integration principles to parts and subsystems.
- Lead or participate in design and virtual reviews.
- Document material specifications, mass data, and other attributes within the math file.
- Perform NX analysis with support from senior designers and apply results to subsystem designs.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technical teams to meet product requirements.
- Integrate component designs into overall system architecture and communicate status to managers.
Required profile
- 2–5 years of CAD or engineering design experience in automotive or mechanical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Siemens NX and parametric modeling.
- Solid understanding of GD&T, manufacturability, and subsystem integration.
- Experience with Design for Assembly (DFA) concepts.
