Engineer I - Civil/Structural

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Engineer I specializing in civil and structural design to join its expanding design group in Texas. The position offers the chance to work on transportation and urban infrastructure projects, applying engineering principles to develop structural solutions for large‑scale, complex assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Produce design calculations and engineering computations using CAE/CAD software.
• Review supplier drawing submittals, shop drawings and construction‑phase documents.
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, estimates and material quantity takeoffs.
• Conduct site visits to collect field data, observe construction and evaluate contractor performance.
• Support interdisciplinary teams during design and construction phases and participate in value‑engineering and budget reconciliation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field) with 1–2+ years of relevant experience.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Master’s degree and related internships are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design and analysis software (CAE/CAD).
• Experience using CAD for drafting and modeling.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations, material takeoffs and QA procedures.
