Engagement Manager – Communications, Media & Technology / Private Capital

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Private Equity team in North America is hiring consultants for its San Francisco office, supporting its rapid growth. The Engagement Manager serves both private equity (or financial sponsor) and Communications, Media & Technology (CMT) clients, working alongside partners and clients on strategy, growth and operational improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects for Associates and Consultants, and share responsibility for engagements with Partners
• Lead and manage complex programs to meet agreed goals on time, using firm best practices and technical competencies
• Guide and influence clients as trusted advisors, including executing the commercial process
• Identify new and expanded opportunities for clients and build business
• Develop others, build a followership and lead firm-building activities
• Oversee the consulting team as it develops hypotheses, reviews client information, conducts interviews and produces deliverables
• Support Partners with project management, work planning, workflow and coaching of junior team members

Required profile

• Preference for 4-7 years of strategy consulting experience at a top-tier firm or similar organization
• Experience leading teams and delivering results in fast-paced environments
• Exposure to commercial due diligence in a management consulting firm
• Experience with both CMT and private equity clients
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time, including internationally
