About the role
Anthropic is looking for an Energy Scheduling & Portfolio Lead to take ownership of energy availability across its non‑cloud data‑center portfolio. The role provides a live view of contracted, available and committed energy versus compute load, and works closely with market participants to align energy supply with workload planning.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a real‑time view of energy availability risk and need at each site, updating contracts, capacity and load forecasts by month and hour.
- Act as the operational counterpart to LSEs, QSEs, scheduling coordinators and wholesale/retail suppliers in domestic ISO/RTO markets such as ERCOT and international power markets.
- Predict, track and manage curtailment events, scarcity pricing, emergency procedures and contractual obligations across ESAs, PPAs and utility agreements.
- Oversee the portfolio’s load‑flexibility capabilities, including demand‑response participation and non‑firm service commitments, and coordinate with workload planning teams.
- Manage performance of behind‑the‑meter generation assets and ensure exposure to energy risk is minimized.
- Build processes, models and structures to support long‑term asset management of the energy portfolio.
Required profile
- Proven experience in energy scheduling, portfolio management or related utility market roles.
- Strong understanding of electricity and gas markets, ISO/RTO operations and curtailment mechanisms.
- Ability to work with cross‑functional teams including LSEs, QSEs, scheduling coordinators and data‑center operations.
- Experience developing forecasting models and risk‑management processes.
