Employment Services Intern (Fall 2026) – Unpaid

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Fall 2026 Employment Services Intern for its Atlanta office. This unpaid position supports refugee clients in their job search and workforce integration while providing valuable hands‑on experience in a humanitarian setting.

Key responsibilities

• Research potential employers and community partners relevant to employment services.
• Schedule client meetings, prepare documents, and assist with follow‑ups.
• Conduct one‑on‑one job readiness counseling and training.
• Help clients complete online and paper job applications.
• Research and connect clients to housing, food, and medical resources.
• Coordinate transportation and accompany clients to interviews and orientations.
• Enter case notes and maintain client files in IRC databases.
• Attend New Arrival Orientation and conduct client intake.
• Submit internship hours on the volunteer dashboard and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Strong interest in working with refugees and humanitarian services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
