Employee Health & Benefits Benefits Specialist (e-sMMArt)

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring an Employee Health & Benefits Benefits Specialist (e-sMMArt) in West Point, West Virginia. The role covers administering employee benefits programs, supporting employees with their benefits questions and keeping programs compliant with federal and state regulations. Applicants must live within driving distance of an MMA Southeast office and be able to commute to the office at least three days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans and ancillary benefits
• Maintain accurate employee benefits records in the HRIS
• Serve as the main point of contact for employee benefits questions and run benefits orientation for new hires
• Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA and HIPAA, and prepare reports for regulators and internal stakeholders
• Evaluate benefits programs using employee feedback and utilization data and recommend improvements
• Work with benefits vendors and insurance carriers, helping negotiate and renew vendor contracts
• Create and distribute benefits communications and organize benefits fairs and informational sessions
• Work with the HR team to align benefits with HR strategy and help develop benefits policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in benefits administration or a related role, preferably in insurance or a corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to educate and support employees
• Relevant certifications such as CEBS, PHR or SPHR are a plus
• Must obtain a Life and Health Insurance license within the first 90 days of employment

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with HRIS software
• Analytical skills to interpret data and make recommendations
