Emergency Room Registered Nurse

About the role

Join a fast‑paced Emergency Department at a leading, faith‑based nonprofit healthcare organization. You will provide independent, competent nursing care to patients with urgent and emergent conditions, making critical, life‑saving decisions each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, stabilization, and document history, symptoms, and care.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor effectiveness and side effects per protocol.
• Address physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated emergency care and patient education.
• Meet OneCHRISTUS competencies and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Support multiple shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required profile

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or any compact state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency, acute care, or a related nursing specialty.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (grace periods for new hires).
• Strong critical‑thinking, assessment, and communication skills in high‑pressure environments.
• Ability to work full‑time with flexible shift availability.
