About the role

Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products. We are looking for a part‑time Software Engineering Intern for the 2027 summer to assist in planning and developing embedded software solutions at our Newburgh, IN office.

Key responsibilities

Assist in the development and implementation of embedded software solutions.
Support engineers with documenting application requirements and specifications.
Perform lab and field testing and document test results.

Required profile

Pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
Experience developing software in C, C++, Python, Bash, or Embedded Linux.
Familiarity with intra‑system (SPI, I2C, CAN) and inter‑system (USB, UART, USART) communication protocols.
Understanding of source control concepts.

Required skills

Embedded Linux or Real‑Time Operating System (RTOS) experience.
Bare‑metal programming knowledge.
