Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Vistance Networks (formerly Aurora Networks) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join its Santa Clara team. The role focuses on developing firmware and software for a range of embedded products, collaborating with both on‑site and offshore teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware/software for embedded devices using C/C++.
• Work with hardware engineers on interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
• Coordinate with offshore developers to create monitoring and control applications.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to create test plans, scripts, and analyze results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) with 4 years experience, or Master’s with 2 years experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and debugging abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented and able to work in an agile environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with embedded interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART, USB.
• Knowledge of basic electronic circuits and schematics.
• Scripting languages: Shell, Python, Perl.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols (TFTP, SNMP, HTTP).
• Experience with test automation tools such as Kotlin/Android, Appium, Selenium, Cypress, JEST.

• Base salary range $100,000‑$128,000 per year.
