Elevator Inspector – Little Rock

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a qualified Elevator Inspector to perform trade‑specific inspections on elevators, escalators, mechanized walkways and related lift equipment in Little Rock, AR. The role ensures that installation, repair, retrofit and maintenance work complies with applicable codes, standards and contract documents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform code and quality‑control inspections on various phases of elevator and lift equipment.
• Detect defects or faults in installations, maintenance or operation and recommend remedial actions per jurisdictional requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and installation plans to verify compliance.
• Use standard testing devices to confirm equipment meets established performance criteria.
• Coordinate schedules with service companies and technicians to maximize operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Current Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification OR five years of experience in elevator inspection, service, repair or testing.
• Education in an engineering discipline may substitute for two years of field experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles applicable to elevators and related equipment.
• Ability to apply American National Standard Safety Code for Elevators and jurisdictional requirements.

Required skills

• QEI certification or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Excel and Access.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical documents.
• Knowledge of elevator code compliance and safety standards.
