Elementary Special Education Teacher (Resource Room)

About the role

Madison Elementary School is looking for a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to lead the resource room. The successful candidate will provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs and support inclusive classroom practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for resource‑room students.
• Deliver differentiated instruction in a resource‑room setting, adapting materials and strategies to meet each student’s goals.
• Collaborate with general‑education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure seamless integration of services.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with state and federal special‑education regulations.

Required profile

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Special Education.
• Experience working with elementary‑age students in a resource‑room or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of special‑education laws, IEP development, and inclusive instructional practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using educational technology tools for instruction and data tracking.
• Ability to design and adapt curriculum materials for diverse learning needs.
