Elementary French Teacher – Fall 2026

About the role

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is recruiting an Elementary French Teacher for an independent school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, beginning in the fall of 2026. The position involves delivering French language instruction to pre‑school and lower‑school students and fostering a vibrant, interactive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide French instruction to pre‑school and lower‑school students, covering listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Create engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to diverse skill levels.
• Encourage social interaction, active participation and self‑motivation among students.
• Collaborate with the world‑language department and school administration to enhance the early‑grade French program.
• Organize events that allow students to showcase their French language abilities.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and behavior.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices.
• Assist with extracurricular and school‑community activities as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken French.
• 2–3 years of teaching experience with young learners.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to support extracurricular and community activities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in French language (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
• Knowledge of ACTFL standards (preferred).
