Electronics Technician – Aviation Maintenance

About the role

Barfield, a subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering, is seeking an Electronics Technician to support its Maintenance Department across multiple U.S. facilities. You will work on a variety of aircraft electronic, mechanical and radio equipment, ensuring they meet airworthiness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Test, repair, overhaul, and calibrate electronic, mechanical, and radio components using schematics, Component Maintenance Manuals, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and Engineering Orders.
• Perform modifications following official instructions and document work accurately.
• Utilize hand tools and advanced test equipment to troubleshoot and verify functionality.
• Report progress and issues to supervisors or lead technicians.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed electronics technician training or 1‑2 years of bench experience in a related field.
• Ability to follow written technical instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and readiness to cross‑train in related areas such as shipping, receiving, and metrology.

Required skills

• Soldering and de‑soldering of surface‑mounted components.
• Knowledge of radio, digital and analog electronics.
• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and function generators.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and maintenance manuals.
• Use of hand tools for calibration and repair tasks.
