Electro Optical Technician

About the role

CACI's Ascent Vision Technologies (AVT) team in Belgrade, Montana, is hiring an Electro Optical Technician. AVT makes gyro-stabilized gimbal systems for airborne, ground and maritime ISR and counter-drone missions. The technician assembles and tests these systems from components to complete gimbal assemblies, checks quality and performance, and supports inspections, QMS and RMAs. The position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble gyro-stabilized camera systems from design drawings and build procedures.
• Calibrate assembled systems to meet performance standards.
• Test commercial, military and other customer aerospace components, subassemblies and systems.
• Diagnose and repair defects, document test results and repair actions.
• Read and interpret design drawings, build procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of assembly, calibration, testing and repair.
• Use hand and power tools, electric meters and diagnostic equipment, and operate material handling equipment.
• Perform other assigned tasks, including special projects, process improvements and QMS/RMA support.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree (AA) desired.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair processes for electronics or electro-mechanical assembly.
• Detailed, disciplined, able to follow written and verbal directions and sit and focus for long periods.
• Ability to explain manufacturing issues and solve them with others.
• Adheres to ESD and 5S principles; works in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift 50 lbs; local to the Bozeman, MT area preferred.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Desired: Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge, previous manufacturing or mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experience.
