Electrical Inspector – Data Center (Texas)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an Electrical Inspector to perform detailed inspections of electrical infrastructure in mission‑critical data‑center facilities across Texas. The role ensures compliance with the National Electrical Code, IEEE standards, local regulations, and client‑specific design criteria while supporting project management and business‑development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect power distribution panels, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, battery rooms, generators, grounding, and bonding systems.
• Review construction drawings, single‑line diagrams, and specifications for code compliance before field work.
• Interpret NEC, IEEE 3000, NFPA 70 and local codes, and communicate requirements to contractors and owners.
• Produce detailed inspection reports, non‑compliance notices, corrective‑action recommendations, and embed photographic evidence.
• Provide technical assistance to data‑center owners, facility managers, electrical contractors, and permitting authorities.
• Support project planning, schedule coordination, and budget tracking for inspection‑related activities.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred) or high school diploma/GED with at least 2 years relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years journey‑level experience in municipal or county electrical inspection, industrial/commercial electrical construction, or electrical contracting.
• Journeyman Electrical or ICC Electrical Certification (mandatory); additional certifications such as CEC, OSHA 30‑hour, or PMP are a plus.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Experience using digital cameras and photo‑editing software for documentation.
