Entry-Level Piping Stress Engineer – Nuclear

About the role

Join Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group as an entry‑level Piping Stress Engineer, supporting the analysis and design of piping systems for nuclear projects. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days onsite and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Gather data, perform simple calculations and prepare system designs under supervision.
• Assist in preparing specifications, bid tabulations, and technical reports.
• Support vibration monitoring, hydraulic transient evaluation, pipe rupture and corrosion assessments.
• Communicate technical information clearly to project team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, write).

Required skills

• Solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, finite element analysis.
• Familiarity with AutoPIPE and PIPESTRESS software (preferred).
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam (preferred).
