Electrical Hardware Engineer – Hardware Technician

About the role

This permanent position in Foster City focuses on hardware engineering support, ranging from quick solder‑and‑wire tasks to complex ECU test‑setup development within a server rack environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, modify, test, and document cable harnesses and test setups.
• Perform soldering and PCBA rework on wires (00 AWG‑35 AWG), SMD chips (0201+), and ICs (QFN, BGA).
• Prepare, execute, collect data, and document test procedures.
• Manage inventory of equipment and consumables, ensuring proper selection and usage.
• Maintain a safe, organized lab and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience assembling, testing, and repairing PCBAs and cable harnesses.
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics, circuit board files, BOMs, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Associate degree or higher in electrical/electronics/mechanical technology (preferred).

Required skills

• Soldering and PCBA rework.
• Cable harness assembly.
• Use of EE lab equipment (soldering iron, digital multimeter, power supply, oscilloscope).
• Hardware tools (crimpers, wire strippers/cutters, torque drivers, calipers, power drills).
• Linux command line.
• Python scripting.
