Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks an Electrical Engineer to develop, maintain, and implement electrical engineering standards across its Main Campus. The role ensures a safe, reliable, and high‑performing built environment that supports world‑class patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate facility acquisitions for infrastructure operation and management issues.
• Oversee infrastructure components during planning, design, and construction, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and best practices.
• Maintain and update Cleveland Clinic Electrical Standards and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develop, bid, and supervise facility repair projects, and perform engineering studies and assessments.
• Prepare reports and deliver presentations to Facilities Management and internal clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum five years of electrical design or operations experience, including at least three years in health‑care settings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer‑generated reports.

Required skills

• Electrical design and analysis.
• National Electrical Code (NEC) application in a hospital environment.
• Experience with generators, transformers, and automated transfer stations (ATS).
• Interpretation of blueprints and technical schematics.
