Electrical Engineer

About the role

Benchmark Space Systems seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its Avionics team in Burlington, VT. You will design, build, and test next‑generation in‑space propulsion electronics for small satellites, contributing to the modular propulsion avionics system.

Key responsibilities

• Translate system‑level requirements into PCB designs and collaborate with Mechanical Engineering on interfaces.
• Perform bring‑up testing, generate production documentation, and conduct design reviews.
• Support cross‑functional teams, assist with business operations as needed, and uphold the company’s standards of integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of circuit design and PCB layout experience.
• U.S. Person status required; no visa sponsorship available.

Required skills

• Proficiency with enterprise PCB design tools (Altium preferred; OrCad, Allegro, Xpedition, KiCad acceptable).
• Experience using analog/digital simulation software (LTspice, QSPICE, PSPICE).
• Hands‑on use of lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
• Embedded firmware development for ARM Cortex microcontrollers and hardware debugging.
• Version control with Git and familiarity with configuration management.
• Design of analog circuits such as power regulators and signal chains; knowledge of sensors, actuators, and system integration.
