Electrical Engineer – Instrument & Controls

About the role

Strata‑G is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on instrumentation and controls to develop detailed design packages, support procurement, and provide field technical assistance for plant systems in Oak Ridge, TN.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual and detailed engineering deliverables, including cost estimates, bills of material, design criteria, calculations, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Generate conduit/cable schedules, one‑line diagrams, wiring and instrument loop diagrams, and control cabinet assembly drawings.
• Develop control logic, system diagrams, and process control narratives for batch and continuous processes using PLC/HMI and distributed digital control systems.
• Perform walk‑downs of existing facilities, provide field troubleshooting support, and create corrective design actions.
• Collaborate with integrated project teams and ensure compliance with NEC, UL508A, and ISA standards.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience.
• Minimum 3 years of instrumentation and controls design experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
• Security clearance (Q clearance) preferred.
