Electrical Engineer II, Mixed-Signal

About the role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is looking for an Electrical Hardware Engineer II, Mixed Signal based in Phoenix, AZ. The role covers the design of audio equipment from initial circuit and mechanical concepts through release to manufacturing, working with internal and external teams to solve technical and non-technical issues, supporting manufacturing and guiding other engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyze, construct and evaluate electronic audio products under supervision, keeping design standards and product requirements in place.
• Communicate design suggestions and trade-offs with product and manufacturing teams.
• Solve technical problems arising in production products and create engineering change notices when needed.
• Use CAD tools such as PCB layout software, schematic capture software and circuit simulation software to speed up and improve designs.
• Plan and schedule complex long-term projects under supervision.
• Help create and implement R&D procedures and design processes, and develop ideas for low-cost design principles.

Required profile

• BSEE/BSET or equivalent, at a minimum.
• 4+ years of experience in related electronic design.
• Musical background is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with complex MCU/MPU systems.
• High-speed digital circuit design (Ethernet, USB, etc.).
• Digital audio protocols and standard electronics test equipment.
• Ability to build electronic circuits with basic tools and strong technical and non-technical communication skills.

• Pay scale of $80,000 to $95,000 per year.
