East Coast PRN Travel Infusion Nurse

About the role

aoncology is hiring a remote, PRN travel infusion nurse covering the East Coast. Candidates must live in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia or Virginia. Pay is $30.34-$43.97, travel expenses are paid, and the position is eligible for a PRN differential of $2.25 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, accurate and efficient patient care: assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification and drug administration, following the role's Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs)
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care and non-oncologic agents safely and accurately, using ONS standards and guidelines
• Dispose of biohazardous waste correctly per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines
• Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and the planned treatment course
• Document treatment thoroughly, accurately and timely in the EMR, capture appropriate charges and follow proper patient identification
• Handle telephone triage, prioritising calls from patients, families, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies and physician offices
• Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, place stock in storage areas and complete annual safety and nursing trainings
• Work at any company location on an as-needed basis, work overtime when given sufficient notice, and assist in training new employees

Required profile

• Nursing degree and unencumbered RN license in the state of employment or a multi-state license
• Current CPR and BLS certifications and a valid driver's license with a vehicle for travel between clinic locations
• Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
• Fluency in English and strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to work remotely and in a fast-paced, multi-site environment

• EMR documentation
