Dredge Engineer (Engineer I-V)

About the role

Curtin Maritime, a marine construction and transportation company, is hiring Dredge Engineers for multiple openings, live anywhere in the US. Engineers work directly with the Port Engineer and the Vessel Captain, applying the company's values of innovation, integrity and efficiency. Travel is fully paid and company-coordinated, and the schedule is full-time, project-specific, with frequent long hours, weekend work and offshore travel.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute voyages, maintain vessel inventories and work plans, and create requisitions
• Work with the Port Engineer and Captain to plan work while underway
• Manage Deckhands on projects and during downtime, and lead teams on vessel projects
• Maintain the vessel and engine room to the Curtin Standard, keeping it cleaner than found
• Keep thorough records and report to the Port Engineer; participate in audits and help build SOPs
• Act as your own project manager, dealing with vendors, regulatory bodies and shipyards

Required profile

• Attention to detail, strong organization and ability to make safe decisions under pressure
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift 40 pounds, work below decks and in confined spaces, and to swim
• Good personal hygiene

Licenses and skills

• Required: TWIC card, MMC OS/Wiper, CG medical certificate, passport
• Preferred: MMC QMED/Oiler, Able Seaman endorsement, STCW basic training, DDE 1000 (Eng I), DDE 4000 (Eng IV), DDE 500-ton (Eng V)
• Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems, tow winch operation, and VMS operation
• Pay ranges: Engineer I $450-$550/day, II $550-$650/day, III $650-$750/day, IV $750-$800/day, V $800-$875/day
