Drafting & Design Coordinator – Telecommunications

About the role

Ervin Cable Construction is seeking a Drafting & Design Coordinator to support telecommunications and permit drawing creation. You will work closely with project teams to ensure designs meet customer specifications and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Create or modify telecommunications and permit drawings.
• Design small extensions and system redesigns according to customer specifications.
• Produce high‑quality drafts using AutoCAD or other specified mapping software.
• Coordinate project timelines and deliverables, aligning drafting work with overall project goals.
• Provide timely information to the team, including strand maps, drafted design maps, and BOMs or digital files.
• Maintain high production levels to exceed client expectations.
• Learn new software and adapt to emerging technologies as needed.
• Meet tight deadlines and complete tasks under pressure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED; up to two years of Telecom Outside Plant (OSP) design/engineering experience required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Coursework or internship experience in design and drafting preferred.
• Physical ability to work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse, and occasionally operate a vehicle, climb stairs, stand, or walk.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
