Drafter - Water & Wastewater Treatment

About the role

An experienced, detail-oriented Drafter is sought to join the engineering team supporting the design and delivery of Water and Wastewater Treatment projects. The role suits someone with strong drafting experience, good 3D modelling skills and knowledge of process equipment, piping, skids, valves and tank design. It is based in Kingwood on a hybrid basis, with a salary of USD 55,000 to 75,000.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants using AutoCAD, under the guidance of Design Engineers.
• Produce detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Develop 3D models, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings and assembly drawings.
• Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Support BIM Asset Management, including Asset Registers and Asset Information Models.
• Coordinate and compile Operation and Maintenance Manuals, including as-built models and drawings, equipment datasheets, operating and maintenance procedures, maintenance schedules and spare parts schedules.
• Apply engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to design challenges.

Required profile

• Degree in Applied Science (Drafting) or a related discipline with a strong technical background.
• Experience in a similar drafting or design role, with extensive technical drafting experience in an engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of process equipment, piping systems, valves, skid-mounted systems and tank design.
• Good mathematical and problem-solving skills, able to deliver quality work to deadlines in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
