Donor Relations Associate / Senior Donor Relations Associate

About the role

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation is seeking a Donor Relations Associate or Senior Donor Relations Associate to support the Advancement Office. The role involves planning and executing roughly 100 events per year and managing donor stewardship activities, often requiring evening and occasional weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute exhibition openings, cultivation events, galas and other fundraising activities.
• Manage donor stewardship, benefit delivery and reporting for exhibition sponsors, planned‑giving donors and other key groups.
• Support event RSVPs using Raiser’s Edge NXT, Zkipster and related platforms.
• Maintain and update donor communications, travel program materials and event‑management technology.

Required profile

• Professionalism and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and handle confidential information.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar donor database.
• Familiarity with event‑management tools such as Zkipster.
