About the role

The Division Chief leads the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Dentistry division at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Surgery. This senior academic position oversees complex clinical services, research initiatives, educational programs, and the division’s financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and execute a strategic vision for the division, driving growth and excellence in a competitive marketplace.
• Oversee clinical services, research activities, and education programs, including GME and accredited fellowship training.
• Manage the division’s budget, resource allocation, and financial performance to support the mission.
• Lead faculty recruitment, selection processes, and annual performance reviews.
• Support career development and mentorship for faculty members.
• Serve on Department of Surgery leadership committees and collaborate with UMMSOM and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
• Develop transparent performance standards for clinical care, research, and education.
• Foster a culture of generosity, integrity, diversity, and constructive interaction.
