District Wholesale Manager

About the role

Avis Budget Group is looking for a District Wholesale Manager to direct the sale of its vehicles through all available channels within an assigned area. The role coordinates and guides Operations and Supply Chain on placing sale vehicles at auctions or other channels, works with the National Car Sales Team to keep pricing consistent and supports Division profit and loss and fleet goals. Occasional travel is required.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide Ops Sales and Supply Chain to achieve the right car in the right place for auctions and other channels
• Attend auctions to sell cars, monitor market conditions and keep reasonable inventory levels
• Manage promotional sales events at various locations to optimise vehicle values
• Adjust pricing with the National Car Sales Team and enforce pricing for off-rent, damaged, wrecked, commercial truck, retail trade-in and other sellable inventory
• Analyse and collect competitive sales and pricing data
• Maintain relationships with auctions and potential buyers, resolve buyer disputes and track payments from all sales
• Monitor inventory levels, hold selling locations accountable for ABG inventory and revise vehicle sales policies as needed
• Negotiate sale, transport and repair fees with vendors

Required profile

• College degree required
• Experience in wholesale vehicle sales and familiarity with the wholesale auction process strongly preferred
• Previous experience with rental car or other fleet organisations preferred
• Strong negotiation skills, effective communication and creative issue resolution
• Ability to work with urgency, stay self-motivated and handle many simultaneous tasks
