About the role

The State of Georgia, through the Technical College System of Georgia, seeks a dedicated Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist to join the Office of Workforce Development at the Gwinnett Career Center. This full‑time position supports veterans and eligible individuals in achieving their employment goals through personalized career services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessment interviews, career guidance sessions, and develop individualized employment plans.
• Provide labor market information, job search assistance, and facilitate workshops on job‑readiness techniques.
• Identify barriers to employment, coordinate referrals to supportive services, and promote self‑sufficiency.
• Perform job counseling using assessment tools to match client skills with available opportunities.
• Engage with local veteran organizations, community groups, and educational institutions, including travel to remote sites.
• Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies and employers to expand entry‑level and career opportunities for veterans.

Required profile

• Qualified, eligible veteran status.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or an associate’s degree with relevant experience.
