Director, Product & Data Governance

About the role

The Director, Product & Data Governance leads the establishment and operation of governance as a core capability for the Insurance Platform. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures product, data, and API decisions are made consistently, transparently, and at the right level, enabling rapid platform adoption while meeting regulatory, privacy, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own the governance framework covering product onboarding, data usage, API standards, and shared platform assets.
• Define and maintain clear decision rights and guardrails to reduce ambiguity and accelerate delivery.
• Ensure platform-wide consistency for data definitions, schema evolution, versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation policies.
• Design and run the governance operating model, including intake processes, review forums, escalation paths, and exception management.
• Lead governance forums to deliver fast, high‑quality decisions and act as the single point of accountability for governance outcomes.
• Partner with Platform Product Management to oversee product onboarding and lifecycle compliance with governance standards.

Required profile

• Senior leader with proven experience at the intersection of product management, platform engineering, data, security, legal, and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to balance speed and innovation with clear accountability and long‑term scalability.
• Strong track record of establishing governance frameworks and driving cross‑functional adoption.
• Excellent communication skills to ensure transparent decision‑making across diverse teams.
