Director, Process Support Engineering

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Director of Process Support Engineering to lead a world‑class team supporting a strategic semiconductor customer. The role drives technology adoption, builds organizational capability, and partners with customers to solve complex manufacturing challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Develop trusted relationships with senior customer engineering and manufacturing leaders and serve as the key technical interface.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing organization of Process Support Engineers and managers, establishing performance expectations and a culture of accountability.
• Drive adoption of new technologies through demonstrations, evaluations, qualifications, and joint development activities.
• Support resource planning, financial forecasting, and continuous improvement of execution and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate across Account Management, Technical Directors, R&D, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service to ensure consistent best‑practice execution.

Required profile

• BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience and 5+ years leading technical teams.
• Proven experience supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing environments and managing technical escalations.
• Strong customer‑facing leadership with excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Required skills

• Semiconductor process integration.
• Deposition, etch, CMP, metrology, inspection and patterning technologies.
• Memory technologies such as DRAM.
