Director, Partner Resources (HR) – Retail (LA Central California)

About the role

Starbucks is seeking a Director of Partner Resources (HR) for its retail operations in the Los Angeles Central California region. The role will lead the Partner Resources organization, shaping talent strategy, driving business growth, and enhancing the partner (employee) experience.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with regional leadership to design a talent strategy aligned with business objectives and future workforce needs.
• Lead organizational effectiveness, talent, and performance management initiatives for the region.
• Use data and insights to improve customer and partner experiences.
• Integrate inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility into all talent practices.
• Act as a balanced advocate for partners and a catalyst for change.
• Coach partners at all levels to achieve high performance and meaningful career development.
• Build, lead, and develop a team of HR generalists and cross‑functional partners.
• Elevate regional team performance through targeted development strategies.
• Model personal growth through self‑awareness and reflection.

Required profile

• 8+ years of advanced consulting experience working with senior leaders on HR strategy, change management, training, staffing, succession planning, and performance management.
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing a multi‑functional HR team covering staffing, partner relations, learning, and organizational development.
• Background in staffing, compensation, benefits, and employee relations (preferred).
• Progressive experience delivering HR services in a high‑growth environment.
