Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics

About the role

The Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics reports to the Chief Operating Officer and leads all warehousing, inventory, fulfillment, and logistics functions. This senior position ensures the efficient, accurate, and cost‑effective movement of goods from receipt to delivery while supporting cross‑functional initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and optimise receiving, put‑away, storage, picking, packing and shipping to meet service, cost and quality targets.
• Own inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories and corrective actions.
• Implement best‑practice methods, systems and WMS processes for inventory control and order fulfilment.
• Manage outbound fulfilment to ensure on‑time, accurate shipments for customers and retailers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders and 3PL providers, meeting cost and service goals.
• Create and monitor logistics and 3PL performance scorecards.
• Analyse order volume and capacity to plan labour, space and equipment for growth and seasonal demand.
• Drive cost‑reduction strategies while preserving service levels.
• Ensure safety compliance and a well‑organised work environment.
• Manage the department budget, resources and cross‑functional operational decisions.
• Recruit, evaluate and lead multiple teams, setting priorities and solving complex operational problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or a related field.
• Minimum 5 + years experience in warehouse operations, logistics or distribution management.
• At least 3 + years of management experience.
• Experience in cosmetics, personal care or consumer products is a plus.
• Proven experience managing 3PL providers, carriers and freight relationships.
