About the role
The College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts at East Texas A&M University seeks a visionary leader to launch and manage the Legal Commons. This nine‑month staff position combines administrative leadership with a teaching component, guiding undergraduate pathways into law and related professions.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and oversee the Legal Commons as a coordinating initiative within the Office of the Dean.
- Develop curricula, workshops, and mentorship programs that prepare students for law school and legal‑adjacent careers.
- Collaborate with faculty, career services, and external legal partners to create experiential learning opportunities.
- Manage budget, staffing, and reporting for the Legal Commons.
- Teach assigned courses and contribute to the academic mission of the college.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in law, legal studies, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in legal education, program development, or academic administration.
- Strong record of collaboration with faculty, students, and professional legal organizations.
- Ability to secure and manage external partnerships and resources.
Required skills
- Program design and implementation for legal education.
- Curriculum development and instructional delivery.
- Budget management and reporting.
- Stakeholder engagement and partnership building.
