Director of Technical Product Management

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Technical Product Management to lead strategy and execution for the Developer Workbench platform, a unified suite of tools that supports over 11,500 engineers. This role will shape how developers build, test, and ship software across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the long‑term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Developer Workbench.
• Champion AI‑augmented development practices, including coding assistants and automated quality pipelines.
• Establish cost structures, ROI models, and productivity metrics to demonstrate platform value.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, security, finance, and executive leadership to drive alignment and execution.
• Mentor product managers, influence across the organization, and set governance and success metrics.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in technical product management for large‑scale, high‑availability systems.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and articulating ROI.
• Proven ability to navigate complex matrixed organizations and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for executive and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Containerization tools like Docker Desktop and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD platforms including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD.
• Developer portals/inner‑source platforms such as Backstage.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure automation.
• DevOps, APIs, and modern developer experience principles.
