Director of Standards & Training

About the role
Association Headquarters is seeking a senior professional to lead the development and delivery of its client partners’ standards and training programs. The Director will provide strategic leadership, ensuring standards remain current, credible, and aligned with emerging industry needs while expanding influence across the built environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the creation, revision, and maintenance of organizational standards in line with ANSI Essential Requirements and the client’s accredited Standards Developing Organization procedures.
- Manage standards committees, consensus bodies, public comment periods, and all required documentation.
- Coordinate stakeholder outreach to ensure balanced representation throughout the standards development process.
- Identify opportunities for new standards, revisions, and technical guidance based on emerging technologies, research, industry needs, and regulatory trends.
- Serve as liaison to standards committees, working groups, and external standards‑developing organizations, code bodies, and industry partners.
- Support advocacy initiatives by providing technical expertise, developing supporting materials, and representing the organization with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee the training and workforce development portfolio, designing and delivering programs that build expertise in HVAC system assessment, cleaning, restoration, and indoor air quality.
- Collaborate with volunteer committees, subject‑matter experts, staff, industry partners, and the Executive Team to strengthen the client’s position as a leading authority.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in standards development and management, preferably within the HVAC or built‑environment sector.
- Strong understanding of ANSI accreditation processes and consensus‑building methodologies.
- Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders and drive collaborative outcomes.

Required skills
- Knowledge of ANSI Essential Requirements and standards accreditation procedures.
