Director of Special Events

About the role
As the Director of Special Events you will lead the conception, production and budgeting of a wide range of brand‑focused activities, from new store openings and exhibitions to press and client‑engagement events. Reporting directly to the President and working from our New York office, you will ensure every activation supports business goals, brand positioning and growth objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own the end‑to‑end event strategy, aligning activations with company growth, market expansion and brand standards.
- Partner with executive leadership to translate business objectives into high‑impact experiential programs.
- Develop integrated 360° event plans in collaboration with Brand Marketing and cross‑functional teams.
- Drive innovation by introducing new formats, technologies and concepts that elevate the brand experience.
- Manage the event portfolio, ensuring consistency, quality and compliance across all executions.
- Lead financial planning for events, including budget creation, cost optimization and ROI analysis.
- Build and maintain a best‑in‑class vendor ecosystem, negotiating contracts and ensuring cost‑effective delivery.
- Design audience and VIP engagement strategies that align with target segments and business priorities.
- Leverage data and post‑event analytics to continuously improve performance and report insights.
- Oversee governance, risk management and contractual compliance for all events.
- Recruit, develop and lead internal and external teams, fostering a culture of creativity and accountability.
Required profile
- Significant experience in event production and management, preferably at a senior or director level.
- Proven track record of budgeting large‑scale events and delivering measurable ROI.
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills, with experience managing internal staff and external partners.
- Excellent stakeholder management, including relationships with general managers, vendors and agencies.
- Ability to collaborate closely with marketing, retail and operations teams to integrate events into broader campaigns.
- Data‑driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform event strategy.
