Director of Software Development Engineering

About the role

As Director of Software Development Engineering you will lead DeepHealth’s engineering organization, shaping technical strategy, architecture and delivery of its health‑technology platform. You will partner with product, clinical and business leaders to drive a scalable, reliable, and compliant software ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive multi‑year engineering vision, technical roadmap and platform strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead architecture and design of complex, distributed, cloud‑native systems ensuring scalability, reliability, security and compliance.
• Establish engineering standards, processes and best practices to achieve quality and operational excellence.
• Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into engineering plans and deliver on‑time releases.
• Recruit, develop and retain top engineering talent, building career ladders, onboarding programs and a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in engineering leadership, preferably in SaaS or health‑tech.
• Proven track record of building and scaling distributed systems and high‑performing engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• AWS, GCP or Azure cloud platforms.
• Microservices architecture and API design.
• DevOps/CI‑CD pipelines and tools (GitHub, Jira, PagerDuty, Datadog).
• Experience with HIPAA‑compliant environments; familiarity with HL7 and FHIR standards.
