Director of Sales (DOS) – Full‑Service Hotel

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, results‑driven Director of Sales to lead the commercial strategy of our full‑service hotel in the Houston area. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on selling to grow market share, build strong client relationships, and position the property for long‑term success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the hotel sales strategy across corporate transient, group, SMERF, association, government, sports & entertainment, tour & travel, local negotiated accounts, and catering & social business.
• Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, forecasting, pace management, market segmentation, inventory, and RevPAR growth.
• Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans aligned with revenue goals.
• Represent the hotel at industry events, networking functions, trade shows, and community organizations.
• Recruit, coach, and inspire a high‑performing sales team while maintaining accountability for production and performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales leadership experience, including current or previous Director of Sales or Assistant Director of Sales roles in a full‑service branded hotel.
• Proven success driving RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, market share, and total revenue.
• Experience with IHG or comparable full‑service brands strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Delphi, Delphi.fdc, Opera, CI/TY, or comparable hotel sales and CRM systems.
• Deep understanding of corporate transient, group sales, catering, business travel, and revenue strategy.
