Director of Real Estate Operations

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Director of Real Estate Operations to lead a portfolio of over 6,000 units across stabilized, lease‑up and new‑development properties. Based in San Francisco, the role reports to a senior operations leader and is responsible for translating corporate strategy into measurable asset performance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive operational and financial performance of a defined regional portfolio, ensuring assets meet or exceed targets.
• Lead, coach and hold Regional Property Managers accountable for site inspections, risk mitigation and execution of property‑level initiatives.
• Monitor and act on key performance indicators, addressing gaps and opportunities promptly.
• Maintain compliance with Greystar standards, financial integrity and resident experience expectations.
• Communicate escalated client needs and strategic decisions to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in real‑estate operations or property management.
• Track record of managing large, multi‑asset portfolios (6,000+ units).
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder and team interaction.
