Director of Quality, Risk, Incidents & Investigations

About the role

The Director leads the Office of Quality, Risk, Incidents and Investigations for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, ensuring compliance with TJC and CMS standards across State Hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and monitor healthcare programs, quality improvement projects, and incident management to meet accreditation standards.
• Develop and implement short‑ and long‑term goals, policies, and procedures for the office and oversee hospital investigation units.
• Collaborate with DBHDD leaders and State Hospital leadership to align objectives, conduct mock tracers, audits, and evaluate service effectiveness.
• Provide leadership to managers and staff, manage human‑resources functions, and oversee committee improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in health care services or a related field.
• Minimum six years of professional managerial or supervisory experience in health care services, or two years at a senior manager level within the agency.
• Ability to obtain required background checks, drug screening, TB evaluation, and annual influenza vaccination.
