Director of National Accounts - Retail (Functional Beverage)

About the role

The Director of National Accounts – Retail leads strategic partnerships with national and regional retail customers in the private‑label functional beverage space. The role focuses on expanding existing relationships, driving category growth, and delivering profitable results through collaborative planning and flawless execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual and multi‑year joint business plans with key retail customers in the functional beverage category.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with merchandising, category management, replenishment and executive stakeholders.
• Drive sales growth through assortment optimization, distribution expansion, promotional effectiveness and portfolio extension.
• Identify whitespace opportunities and emerging sub‑categories such as energy, immunity, gut health, hydration and performance beverages.
• Lead annual business reviews and strategic planning sessions focused on category growth.
• Collaborate with internal category, marketing, supply chain, finance and sales operations teams to align on growth objectives.
• Utilize syndicated data, shopper insights and market trends to support strategic selling and pricing decisions.
• Manage trade investment and negotiate promotional plans to ensure profitable growth across core and emerging SKUs.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing national retail accounts, preferably within functional beverages or related consumer‑goods categories.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with merchandising, category and executive teams.
• Strong analytical mindset to uncover growth opportunities and drive category performance.
