Director of Foreign Exchange and Global Rates

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is seeking a senior leader to head its Foreign Exchange and Global Rates (FXGR) directorate. The role combines operational oversight of foreign‑exchange policy transactions and central‑bank liquidity swaps with high‑impact analytical work that informs monetary‑policy and financial‑stability decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for U.S. foreign‑exchange policy operations, customer transactions and central‑bank liquidity swap lines.
• Oversee production of timely, policy‑relevant analysis of foreign‑exchange, international money and capital markets for the Federal Reserve System and the U.S. Treasury.
• Manage the Foreign Exchange Committee (FXC) secretariat and support its role in promoting market integrity and resilience.
• Direct a high‑performing team of managers, specialists and analysts across two locations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at the New York Fed, Board of Governors and Treasury to support monetary‑policy and financial‑stability objectives.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading teams in foreign‑exchange operations or related financial‑market functions.
• Deep understanding of FX policy, central‑bank liquidity swaps and international capital‑market dynamics.
• Strong ability to communicate complex analysis to senior policymakers and external partners.
