Director of Engineering for Hilton Hotel

About the role

The Director of Engineering will lead the operation and maintenance of the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Baton Rouge. This hands‑on role balances daily engineering tasks with long‑term capital improvement projects to keep the property safe, compliant, and aligned with Hilton standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and energy management systems.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs, respond to guest issues, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Partner with owners, project managers, and contractors on renovation planning, act as on‑site liaison, and monitor timelines, budgets, and quality.
• Lead the engineering team, set performance expectations, and foster a safety‑focused culture.
• Prepare and manage engineering budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of engineering experience in hospitality or a similar environment.
• Prior leadership role in a full‑service hotel, with experience in aging infrastructure and major capital projects.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
