Director of Consumer Services – Georgia State Government

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a seasoned leader to head its Consumer Services Department. In this senior position, you will guide the team that handles public inquiries and complaints related to insurance claim compliance, ensuring timely and fair resolutions for Georgia residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Consumer Services Department.
• Oversee intake, assessment, and resolution of consumer complaints involving insurance claim payments.
• Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and performance standards to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Monitor complaint trends, identify systemic issues, and coordinate with internal compliance teams and external regulators.
• Maintain strong relationships with insurers, regulatory agencies, consumer advocates, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for executive leadership and regulatory bodies.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate departmental staff to sustain a high‑performing, consumer‑focused team.
• Support public education initiatives on insurance rights and claim processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading a consumer‑services, regulatory, or compliance function.
• Strong understanding of insurance claim processes and related regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop policies and improve operational performance.
• Experience preparing reports for senior leadership and regulatory agencies.
