Director of Construction – Utility‑Scale Renewable Energy

About the role

Urban Grid is seeking a seasoned Director of Construction to lead pre‑construction and construction activities for utility‑scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects across the United States. The role oversees advanced‑stage projects from early design through final hand‑over, ensuring alignment with procurement, engineering, and development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated project teams for advanced‑stage solar, wind, and storage projects from pre‑construction to completion.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Project Development, and Business Development to ensure seamless phase transitions.
• Develop forward‑looking procurement strategies for late‑stage projects and negotiate critical long‑lead items.
• Create initial construction schedules and budgets, accounting for internal and external variables.
• Participate in design optimization to prepare projects for offtake commercialization and EPC requests.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in utility‑scale renewable energy construction management.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex contracts.
• Strong understanding of risk mitigation and cost control in large‑scale projects.
