Director of Construction Contracts & Controls

About the role

Suffolk is seeking a Director of Construction Contracts & Controls to lead contract administration, commercial controls, risk management, and governance across a multi‑billion‑dollar portfolio in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The portfolio includes FEMA‑funded education, healthcare, and commercial projects delivered under design‑build and CMAR contract structures.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and continuously improve contract administration processes for a large, complex portfolio.
• Oversee commercial controls, risk management, and governance to ensure alignment with company standards and client expectations.
• Provide enterprise‑level oversight of contractual, financial, operational, quality, and safety outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership, operations, and finance teams to drive strategic objectives.
• Monitor and report on contract performance, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in construction contract administration and commercial controls.
• Deep understanding of design‑build and CMAR contract structures, especially in public‑sector or FEMA‑funded projects.
• Strong analytical and risk‑management capabilities.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and senior executives.
