Director of Communications

About the role

Voltus is seeking a senior communications leader to shape its brand narrative and reputation across the B2B energy market. The Director of Communications will design and execute integrated internal and external communication strategies while working remotely from anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with company goals in partnership with the executive team and cross‑functional leaders.
• Lead public relations and media relations, building relationships with energy, technology and business journalists, and handling crisis communications.
• Design and execute internal communications programs that keep employees informed, engaged and aligned with the mission.
• Create and manage a thought‑leadership program, producing position papers, white papers, blog posts and speeches for senior executives.
• Oversee corporate social‑media channels to boost brand equity and industry share‑of‑voice.
• Plan and deliver major corporate events, user conferences and high‑profile speaking engagements such as CERAWeek and Reuters Energy.
• Select, manage and evaluate external PR and creative agencies to ensure ROI and brand consistency.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal and Product teams to align external messaging with product roadmaps and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading communications strategy in a B2B environment, preferably within the energy or clean‑tech sector.
• Demonstrated success in media relations, crisis communications and executive thought‑leadership initiatives.
• Strong ability to craft compelling internal narratives that drive employee engagement.
• Experience managing external agencies and large‑scale corporate events.
• Eligibility to work remotely in the United States or Canada.
