Director of Career & Experiential Initiatives – Sports Business Program

About the role

The Georgetown McDonough School of Business seeks a visionary leader to direct career, academic, and experiential initiatives for its Durban Sports Business Program. Reporting to senior school leadership, the Director will guide undergraduate fellows in navigating professional pathways and academic planning within the dynamic sports industry.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the McDonough Career Center to design industry‑aligned career pathways, internship pipelines, and full‑time job strategies.
• Provide individualized academic advising, including course selection, degree planning, and experiential learning opportunities.
• Develop and coordinate high‑impact co‑curricular events, workshops, and experiential projects for program participants.
• Collaborate with the Undergraduate Programs Office and other McDonough units to ensure seamless integration of academic and career services.
• Support overall program development, operations, and continuous improvement of the Durban Sports Business Program.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of the sports industry and its career landscape.
• Experience in higher‑education advising, career services, or related student development roles.
• Strong commitment to Georgetown’s Jesuit values and ethical leadership development.
• Excellent communication and partnership skills with faculty, staff, and external employers.
